About the Atelier

We are primarily interested in making buildings that take their place in reality confidently but quietly. Our design work is specific yet open-ended and deals, above all else, directly with space, light and material. We hold the firm conviction that architecture is the most significant and, if done well, lasting of human cultural endeavours and we approach every assignment with the care and respect deserving of such an undertaking. We love the complexity and rigor of the process of building and dedicate considerable effort to making it look easy.

Ark was established in 2004 by architect Stephen Cameron and has grown since then into its current Spring Hill atelier. Over this time the scope of our projects has grown from small residential additions to large commercial and public commissions (along with lots more of the little ones).
