A post-war house sat uncomfortably on a very steep and lush site like an enclosed platform in the air. Our primary intent was to 'ground' this floating house by intervening with the topography using modular masonry units which emerge from the site to support the new addition to the house. A stepped path is made from the front gate all the way to an outdoor dining terrace and pizza oven at the rear of the site, offering various approaches to the house above.
